My testing scores

I wanted to post my scores here for you all to see because I think they are hilariously inconsistent. Some areas, especially math, are just not my strong points, but spelling??!!! All I can say is that I must have been tired after testing all day. Enjoy a giggle as I make myself academically naked here :)

Phew!!! We have a home!

Okay so Mary Neville is an awesome Nursing Director. She saved our tails yesterday. Our new hospital is Dameron in Stockton. I will not be there though. A wonderful student heard my need and met it. My schedule will not change as she is trading hospitals with me. I will now be in Doctor's Hospital Manteca. (where I had my babies) I am familiar with the floor I will be on as well. Jonathan was there with RSV when he was 11 months old. My new clinical instructors name is Shelba Durston. I have heard horrible things about how strict she is and I gotta tell you that I adore her! I believe it must be all perception. She is strict and I do not see that as a bad thing unless I screw up. She reminds me of my Grandfather...ALOT! I think that is why I "get" her and respect her. I am so thankful that I can see my Grandfather in so much of what I am doing. It amazes me how God has allowed people to enter my life that have prepared me for this journey. Jonathan is a key point in that. I have leaned so much about dealing with problems, advocating and seeing through the rough exterior from the battles we have had to overcome in his life.

Anyway, I have my first quiz today and I have studied until I began having dreams of my studies. Talk about sleeping on it! I am still having a blast and can't wait for each new day.

I will write more later, Gracie is summoning her loyal servant...ME!

Oh, The Drama of it ALL!!!

So I went to skills lab today to find out that our clinical group is homeless! Kaiser Manteca decided to not inform our Director that they hired 50 new nurses and do not have room for students or something to that effect. They are trying to get us in another hospital in Stockton but with great changes to our schedule or worse, no clinical and we will be a semester behind! I spent the morning freaking out! I am waiting to hear from Mary if she found a place for us to go. I will let you know later about where our group will end up.

Other than that we learned how to do a proper bed bath, peri-care, oral care and bed making with a patient in or out of bed. Pretty boring morning in the way of skills.

Nothing else to report...Just more studying to do.
